Mary Ann Scott

Meet Mary Ann Scott:

Mary Ann grew up in the Northeastern corner of Alabama.  Her father was in the construction business and her mother was at home with 3 children until Mary Ann’s high school years.

Mary Ann’s husband, Paul and she met and married in college.  He grew up in the same area as she did.  His father pastored a church in Plant City, Florida.  After Paul graduated from pharmacy school, he and Mary Ann moved to South Central Florida where they spent the first 12 years of their marriage.

Paul and Mary Ann have two children, Matthew and Emily.  Emily graduated in 2000 from the University of Montevallo, and she completed graduate work in Speech and Language Pathology at Western Carolina University.  She has one son, Charlie.  Emily is married to Daniel White and lives in Baldwin, Georgia.  Matt graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and works in sales in the steel industry.  He is married to the former Karen Champion and has two sons, Hudson and Drew.  They live in Birmingham.

As a member of First United Methodist Church, Mary Ann has served in several leadership rolls, including the Administrative Board and the Board of Trustees.  She has also worked actively with the State and Local Board of Realtors serving as local President and chaired several commissions at a state and local level.  As chairman of the state communications committee, she worked to establish a public relations project that encourages Realtors throughout our state to contribute gift to the Children’s Trust Fund in honor of their customers/clients.  This project has raised thousands of dollars for the Corporate Foundation for Children.

Mary Ann has served as President of her local Board of Realtors and has twice been names Realtor of the Year.  RE/MAX International has recognized Mary Ann as a Broker/Manager of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Service Award given to Realtors who have made a significant impact on the realtor community.

Marketing Skills

Mary Ann will work diligently to help you with your real estate needs.  She has specialized in single family homes in the Decatur and Morgan County area since 1982.   She will coordinate the sale of your existing home and the purchase of a replacement property with minimal financial exposure.  She understands that a large number of homeowners moving up need to sell their home before they buy another.

Mary Ann will utilize organizational techniques to insure that accurate records are kept by homeowners to minimize capital gains in their principal residence.  She can also handle sales for a variety of home builders in the Decatur and Morgan County area.  By connecting buyers and builders, she has participated in pre-sale construction helping make the process of building as stress free as possible.
